Worth it for the price

I was looking for some good training on Substance Abuse Simulations and saw that Symptom Media had a good selection. I checked around a bit and decided to go with their annual plan because it looked like the best deal for all the content I needed. I definitely felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid. The content was solid, and the annual billing discount made it feel like a smart purchase. It was exactly what I was hoping for without breaking the bank.

Reliable resource for CE

I've used Symptom Media for CE courses several times now, and this time I got the PTSD Clinical Cases. Just like before, the process was consistent. I knew what to expect. The videos were up to their usual standard, and the accreditation for CEUs was clearly stated, which is important for my licensing. I appreciate that they keep adding new content too; it keeps it fresh. It's why I keep coming back for my continuing education needs. This order was just as smooth as my last two.

Easy to use, helpful content

I purchased an individual subscription for the Mental Health Simulation Library. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. I received my access details within minutes, and logging in was simple. The video quality for the Bipolar Disorder Case Studies was clear, and the accompanying materials were well-organized. I used the search function quite a bit, and it worked reliably. I also had a question about CEUs, and their support team replied to my email within a few hours, giving me the information I needed. The content itself was relevant for my practice. It was a good resource.

Good videos for training

I got the Psychiatric Assessment Videos for a course I'm taking. They were pretty helpful. The videos loaded fine and were easy to watch. It made understanding the concepts a bit easier, which was nice. Overall, it was a smooth experience.

Is Symptom Media better than Psychotherapy.net for actual clinical skills stuff? I need to brush up on my interviewing.

D Dan E. 2 months ago
I've used both. Symptom Media feels more focused on the diagnostic and assessment side with their simulations. Psychotherapy.net is good for different therapy approaches though.

Hmm, depends on what you're looking for. Symptom Media is really strong on the DSM-5-TR cases and seeing different presentations. For general interviewing skills, both are decent, but SM might give you more specific examples of disorders.

What's the deal with new content? Is it like, weekly updates or more like monthly/quarterly drops? Don't wanna get bored with the same videos.

A Amber Q. 1 month ago
They add new stuff pretty regularly. Not sure if it's weekly, but definitely often enough that I always find something new when I log in after a few weeks.

I'd say it's more like monthly or bi-monthly, especially for new themed series. They don't just dump everything at once, which is nice.

my student ID expired, can i still get a student discount or do i need to be actively enrolled? kinda tight on cash right now lol.

N Noor Marsh 1 month ago
Pretty sure you need a current enrollment or at least a valid student ID from an accredited program. I had to upload proof when I signed up.

Yeah, I think their student discounts are usually tied to current enrollment. Might be worth reaching out to their support though, sometimes they're flexible if you just graduated or something?

Anyone know if they do free trials? Wanna check out the content before I commit to a subscription.

S Sam T. 2 months ago
They do! I signed up for one last month to see if it was worth it. Just check their homepage or the 'Plans' section, it should be there.

Yep, there's usually an option for a free trial. Lets you poke around the library a bit, which is super helpful.

Hey guys, thinking of signing up for Symptom Media. Is it legit for CEUs? Like, will my board actually accept them?

N Noor 1 month ago
Yeah, they're accredited. I've used their CEUs for my nursing license renewal a couple of times now and never had an issue.

They mention accreditation on their site, so I think you're good. My supervisor actually recommended them for some specific training.
